If you move lower and put the strap about your waist, your feet will hang off the ends. But, if you turn over, the strap hits you at the top of your legs and you can't lower your lets. If you are a total back sleeper, you might sleep fine on it. And, this also makes the rest of the cot lower than the strap. This could be a good thing if not for the fact that that is where your hips are when you are lying down. However, and this is a big however, this has to be the most uncomfortable cot I have ever slept on! It seems this is a design flaw in which the cot has an extra support type sewn-in strap that dead centers the cot where it folds.
